How-To Make Your Own Bible Timeline

One way to explain the 7,000 year story of Creation and Redemption revealed in the Christian bible is to apply what you already know... say... fishing, hunting, quilting, painting, etc.... and use that expertise or hobby to help explain the major events in the story of creation and redemption.

For example, my wife is a quilter.  A bible timeline called "Quilting Thru the Bible" would use quilting terminology and techniques to help explain the story.  The quilting story would start something like this... Starting in the Garden of Eden, God "quilted" an apron using skin from an innocent animal to cover the sin of Adam and Eve.  Then later in the story, God told Noah to build an ark... it took 120 years.  During that period Noah's wife quilted clothes for Noah and her three sons and daughters-in-law to wear during the year long journey when the ark was afloat.  And so on...

Here are some other ideas for "________ing" thru the bible:
  • Hunting thru the Bible
  • Fishing thru the Bible
  • Woodworking thru the Bible
  • Painting thru the Bible
  • Coin Collecting thru the Bible
  • Model Building thru the Bible
  • Glass Blowing thru the Bible
  • Cooking thru the Bible
  • Welding thru the Bible
  • Sky Diving thru the Bible
  • RVing thru the Bible
  • Water Skiing thru the Bible
  • Doll Making thru the Bible
  • Etc ... etc ... etc
Simply put, if you have a hobby, you can use it as a ministry!!

I have provided below a general outline for you to follow that is based on my RACE thru the Bible with Dr. Sonny © presentation.  The basic outline is a blank oval that is broken into seven parts (red numbers 1 thru 7), and then eternity (the red letter E).  Please feel free to use the blank sample to build your own timeline.

Note: Race thru the Bible is already taken and copyrighted:
  • RACE thru the Bible with Dr. Sonny © uses an oval race track and racing terminology to present the story of creation and redemption, shown here
  • Race thru the Bible with Terry Hull © is a "whirlwind" tour approach to "quickly" move thru the 66 books of the bible in one weekend, but using a more traditional presentation of the gospel (no race track, no race cars, no racing terminology) www.joshuaone.org
  • Sonny and Terry fully support each other, and are in collaboration to further the reach of the gospel
